Under the stars (Y. Xehanort, Y. Eraqus)
The tall windows offered him quite the view of the night sky. Millions of stars shimmered silver, and for a moment longer did his silver gaze linger upon them, before once more his attention turned to the chessboard that was placed before him on the windowsill. Taking a single piece of his black - and rimmed with gold - pieces, he twirled it between his fingers for a moment. The light of the night was reflected against the surface, and he allowed himself to be spellbound by the tiniest shifts of light and shadows on the cold surface. "You're still up at this hour?" The spell was broken, and he glanced into the direction of the one distracting him. "Could not sleep." "And what has been on your mind this quiet hour?" With a low hum he turned his gaze once more to the majestic sight that was the sky and its million of stars, the black piece in his hand absently lowered to the side of the chessboard. "The exam, its not too far away now." His unasked company strode to the window, the

Dance (Draco Malfoy x Astoria Greengrass)
Astoria claimed the whole floor hers, with her dark hair in an intricate updo and a gown that her aristocratic beauty further enhanced, the moment this enormous room was shown to her. Closing her eyes for a moment she waltzed across the room with no care for anyone who might have seen and wondered why a woman danced alone in a grand hall meant for a hundred pairs, with women in swirling gowns and men dressed to match in their dark suits and well-kept appearances. In her mind she danced not in solitude, her arms held another body lovingly to her - her partner who held her hand in his own, who twirled her once with a flourish that filled the room with her delighted laughter, her eyes shimmering from adoration and happiness to share this moment with her lover. Opening her eyes Astoria ceased her every movement, mustered her beloved Draco inching away from the shadows. His movements are done by joints so stiff, as if recited are his first few days in freedom after months of trials, and

Romeo and Juliet part I (MarLar, royalty AU)
"Heads you will turn, dearest Elrena." To that gentle chime in your voice I was the abundant recipient, and despite the corset restricting the pathway of air, I filled my chamber with a laughter clear and unmistakably affectionate. I stand before you nearly devoid of clothing, in your presence - when dressed are you in a sufficent enough attire to fit in, while still not being mistaken for that which you are not - I am a plucked hen rather than a majestic peafowl. In your presence my laughter was not threading higher notes, did not reach that shrill edge that had never a pleased recipient stay for long in my presence. A laughter my vocal cords practiced ever since I realised the power that even a simple laugh could hold over other people, enchanting them in the image of a siren or repelling them not unlike a witch. The beauty of a nymph, with the laughter of a deranged witch - it took not long before my title of royalty got soiled by a nickname that many whispered behind my back

Why the sun sets red (Isa and Lea, Kingdom Hearts)
Lovely, in no other way can my heart describe the moment that is before my eyes. The sunset, our usual sunset even all those years ago, is a sight that once more mesmerises me. The crimson has, as always, travelled the farthest. It would be a lie to say that I have not truly longed for this sight, and sharing it with someone that is dear to my heart...can there be a more joyous occasion than this? Is there anything that will ever compare to us being given a second chance not for atonment, but for the chance to live the life we longed for ever since it was stolen from us? Condemned to a bleak and lonely existence we could now fill with light, joy, laughter, tears and the many emotions that came with the existence of being human. The atmosphere around is soothing to a mind that suddenly is rife with thoughts and memories that were buried a decade underneath the darkness. At my side you are seated, and I glance towards you while I wonder about your own thoughts. Your presence has been a

What we used to have
Those eyes, those attractive features...for two years he had haunted me wherever I went, and now he was standing before me – alive and well. Five long years, and yet those five years had barely touched his outer appearance. He reminded me still of the youth I met back then, when we could have been something called friends, instead of strangers with some memories. While not scrutinising him, I did take my time taking in what I recognised and what five years had changed in the one who mustered me as well. He was still pale, under his eyes the signs of his insomnia could be seen even after all this time. The biggest change was his snakebite piercings. A wry smile, and I then wiped sudden tears aside, the moment I noticed the one feature that caught my eye five years prior. “Still liking the emo-style I see.” A pale smile, and he then shook his head – the fringe of his dark hair fell further into his eyes and his fingers then tugged at some of the strands, a bit self-conscious it
Sterile and with no personal flavour, that is the room I'm sitting in. The sparse decoration, while understandable, fills me with sadness. Merely a number, no longer a human being is what I am. A melancholic human at that, but still.
I really did take it further than I ever thought I would.
A sigh, not really knowing what to feel as my thoughts wander towards the past, lingers there the longest, before I turn towards the present and the future.
Will I ever be free from this melancholia? From this pain?
Looking out through the window and watching the world outside feels strange suddenly. The world feels so different yet nothing has really ch
